Description
The area contains around 17 burial
mounds. None of the mounds are excavated.
Registrations in 1970 defined 9 circular and 2
boat-shaped burial mounds within farm number 93/1,
about 100 m SW of the barn at farm nr.93/ 7.
The registrations showed a variety in size of the burial mounds:
Circular burial mounds: between 5-6 m in diameter, height up to 1 m.
Boat-shaped burial mounds Length between 13-15 m, height up to 1 m.
The recent registrations indicates a number of 17 burial mounds in this area. Surveys are ongoing.
Could this be the oldest cemetery connected to the chieftain family at Borg?
