Excavation Details
The site was excavated in 1864 by Greenwell. The floor of the largest cist was formed of carefully laid small rounded pebbles but had been rifled before. The second cist was still complete with four slabs and a cover.

Finds - the remains of three inhumation burials and a fragmentary Beaker were found in the second cist.

Description
The monument is situated in a field and comprises an outer bank with internal ditch, broken by entrance-causeways on the N and S. There are two cists in the enclosed area. It measures about 40m in diameter, the bank is now 0.4m at its highest, the ditch about 4m across and 0.4m deep. The largest cist measures 1.8m by 0.8m and 0.7m deep and is covered by a large capstone. Only three stones remain of the second cist. Both are still partly visible.

Access/Ownership
This site is on private land and permission should be sought.
