Teenager's Poems 1996 to 2003
As these poems were written between 1996 and 2003 by teenagers who are now adults, the surnames have been left off. If you want to reclaim a poem and have your name attached please contact teenmag@irelandcalls.com. We can add your name or remove the poem. Better still, give us a paragraph about yourself to add to your poem.

The Truth by Liz
While I look inside my fearful heart I feel pain and shattered hope My eyes stare into the face Of whom I must tell the truth I feel cloudy, a thunderstorm inside At which the lands are flooded with my pain I look at a happy smile And cheery eyes that seem to laugh I am hesitant to bring up what I must say Why can't things just be easier? Why doesn't this thunderstorm fade into a rainbow? But it has lasted too long for me to back away I haven't enough strength to keep this smile preserved Those laughing eyes that communicate without speaking The only way to keep peace within myself Is to send this storm to this smiling, cheerful person I gather up my courage And his face seems to flinch, twisting in confusion. And while I've lost my hated burden He has gained one worse then what I once held.
