Teenager's Poems 1996 to 2003
As these poems were written between 1996 and 2003 by teenagers who are now adults, the surnames have been left off. If you want to reclaim a poem and have your name attached please contact teenmag@irelandcalls.com. We can add your name or remove the poem. Better still, give us a paragraph about yourself to add to your poem.

What's in the Box? by Tara
I was walking today Watching people as they walked by. Mother and buggy-laden down with their parcels- Manoeuver the bins and people standing chatting. Wind piercingly cold, bitterly whipping us, Keeping us conscious.
I was thinking today-of Christmas past, present And to come. Memories flooding my mind, distracting me from Tasks at hand.
Why even Pandora couldn't keep a lid On such a curiosity. Released now the magic has vanished. But occasionally - just occasionally - recaptured In the buying and selling, eating and drinking, Giving and receiving, that is Christmas.
'Tis a pity. In a flash I would return to Christmas past Accompanied by the Ghost - only to relive those happy Times - perhaps make amends.
But the childlike innocence of Christmas Night Is but a distant, pleasant memory Stored in a box. To be opened occasionally, its contents examined, Memories recalled and a smile shared.
