Teenager's Poems 1996 to 2003
As these poems were written between 1996 and 2003 by teenagers who are now adults, the surnames have been left off. If you want to reclaim a poem and have your name attached please contact teenmag@irelandcalls.com. We can add your name or remove the poem. Better still, give us a paragraph about yourself to add to your poem.

Mask by Amanda
I am lonely in a group of many I am lonely in a group of one I am lonely when there is any I am lonely when there is none A smile is plastered on my face A smile is plastered through out the day A smile I give them and a laugh if they choose A smile I give them but yet a smile I lose This mask of perfection I wear everyday Is a mask of pretection in my own little way I wear it by choice But is this choice my own I wear it at school and when on the phone The mask of perfection is torn off my face And my cloths are ripped from me When I am in this place This place is my house But is it my home When I am here I am all alone Vulnerable and naked while here am I They hurt me I hurt them When I start to cry my tears are not visable But inside I die Then my mask I pick up And put in it's place I run from this house With my smiling face Back to the begining I'll gladly go A smiling I'm giving To those who are in need Of love and of living But who cares for me?
