Teenager's Poems
1996 to 2003

As these poems were written between 1996 and 2003 by teenagers who are now adults, the surnames have been left off. If you want to reclaim a poem and have your name attached please contact teenmag@irelandcalls.com. We can add your name or remove the poem. Better still, give us a paragraph about yourself to add to your poem.

Let Me Go by L. D. in 2001

I'm so very, very weary,
I'm ready to let go.
I tell my friends and family,
yet they smile and cry, say no.

I wake up every morning,
distraught that I'm still here.
To pass away in sleep,
what is there to fear?

I'm weak and ill and tired,
I want to be at peace.
their love is claustrophobic,
why won't they think of me?

I know how much they love me,
to leave them will be pain.
But, I'll be free and happy,
and we will meet again.
