Teenager's Poems
1996 to 2003

As these poems were written between 1996 and 2003 by teenagers who are now adults, the surnames have been left off. If you want to reclaim a poem and have your name attached please contact teenmag@irelandcalls.com. We can add your name or remove the poem. Better still, give us a paragraph about yourself to add to your poem.

Sweet... by Larry

Sweet eyes, so dark, so deep, so gay.
The mirror of the moonlit sky.
My heart shall weep thy close someday,
For Thou wilt die.

Sweet smile, such music is muted by laughter,
And fades with a slowly sad thought passing by.
If Thou could but smile everlasting hereafter,
But Thou wilt die.

Sweet face, full of all the bright memories.
A countenance capturing all life fleeting by.
My words aren't just, you don't live in my poetries,
And Thou wilt die.

Dear God, Why must everything cherished have death?
Must all of us surely at you feet in dust lie?
Love fully the morning, the day, the new breath,
For all must die.
