Wexford
is known as the "Model County" and its name comes from the
Norse 'Weissfiord' meaning, the fjord of the flats.
Wexford

it has sunny seashores, beautiful coastal villages with safe
sandy beaches, an Opera Festival and a Strawberry Fair.
Wexford is rich in history and heritage and is especially
associated with the 1798 Rising when insurgent pikemen
fought bravely against overwhelming odds.
